Downtown Los Altos Store Windows Get Painted

Since 1963, store windows in downtown Los Altos have been painted, but in a good way.  It is the 49th annual Halloween Window painting contest presented by the Los Altos Recreation Department.

Our family created great memories by going downtown to watch my daughter paint her “scary” masterpieces on the store windows.  We’d grab a cup of coffee at Peets, sit on the nearest bench and enjoy watching her create.  I don’t remember if she won any awards, but that wasn’t the point.  It was a great way to spend the afternoon.
