The Los Altos Village Association hosted its annual Halloween Spooktacular yesterday and by the number of kids, it appeared to be another huge success. Beginning around noon and ending around 3:30 (or when the candy ran out) kids, young and old, dressed up in their favorite Halloween costumes and strolled through downtown Los Altos. Merchants with the designated orange pumpkin sign on their storefront window, provided the much anticipated candy treats. Based on the number of kids and the fullness of their bags, the candy given out by the local merchants was well received. Unsubstantiated rumors suggesting that local dentists sponsored this event could not be verified.
