Measure A Campaign is Set to Kick Off Tomorrow at The Garden House in Shoup Park

Proponents of Measure A will kick off their campaign tomorrow morning at 8:30 at the Garden House in Shoup Park (400 University Avenue – see map).  The Los Altos High School Jazz band will perform and there will be speakers including Julia Rosenberg, chair of BEST (Building Education for Students Together) and Barry Groves, the superintendent for the Mountain View/Los Altos Union High School District. 

Measure A is a bond measure that will be put to the voters on the June 2010 ballot.  It would fund new classrooms and green renovations at our local high schools.  According to a recent demographic study, enrollment in our local high schools will increase by slightly over 25% (approximately 900 students) over the next ten years.
