Translation… Georgina P. Blach Intermediate School in Los Altos is celebrating its 50th anniversary with an event that our community will remember for another 50 years. Mark your calenders, jot down a reminder in your P.D.A. and/or text message your friends. The event is scheduled for April 25th beginning at 4:30pm and it will end around 7:00pm. The location will be the Blach Intermediate School campus located at 1120 Covington Drive, Los Altos.
The focus of Falcon Fest is to celebrate Blach with current, past and future Blach students, faculty, parents as well as our local community. If you’re a “mature” Blach alumnus, you may not recognize the current campus. That is why during the event, current Blach students will be conducting campus tours.
There will be a video slide-show detailing Blach through the ages as well as memorabilia display highlighting the history of the school, its students and faculty. Note: if you are an alumnus of Blach (especially classes from the 60’s and 70’s), we’re looking for more items to display. There will also be a time capsule where items from Blach’s past and present will be preserved for future generations. Blach’s Choir and Drama departments are preparing something special.
Tentatively scheduled to speak will be Blach’s current Principle Leslie Crane, current Blach students, California State Assemblymember Ira Ruskin and possibly a member of the Board of Education.
A highlight of the event will be the debut of Festival Of The Falcon a music piece commissioned especially for this event and performed by Blach’s current and alumni band members. Blach’s Choir and Drama department are also preparing something special for the day.
As a one of many members of the planning committee, I hope all the Blach community will attend this event. Should anyone have questions we can be reached at [email protected].
